Today I squirted Lennon in the eye with breast milk....right from my boob....on purpose!
I should give you some background information. We've all had a cold, allergy related I'm pretty sure. Anyway, Lennon's left eye started getting really watery yesterday and he had some green eye boogers (I know, as if squirting breast milk out of my boob wasn't already TMI!). I didn't think it was pink eye because his eye wasn't red at all. Well today it started getting a little pink and I've heard from multiple people that breast milk is a good cure for pink eye. So...that is what I did! I could have pumped then used a syringe or eye dropper but I figured the most sanitary and easiest way to do it was directly from the boob to the eye. I waited until it was time to nurse so he was already in my lap then I just squirted him right in the eye! The funniest part of this was that Lennon thought it was hilarious! Now I just say, "Come here Lennon, let mama put some milk in your eye" and up he runs. Ahhhh, the power of natural medicine : )
By the way I did take him to the doctor today to find out if it was in fact pink eye. The P.A. said it might be the beginning of an eye infection but here are some antibiotic eye drops to give him just in case it is. Ummm, sorry but I don't give my kids antibiotics "just in case" they need them. I think I'll stick to nature's medicine first.
I have done that multiple times! V has gotten styes in his eyes and I just put in some milk. Gone within days!
ReplyDeleteI also squirt it in their noses if they are runny. I love mama medicine :)
