quote of the day

When the people lead, the leaders will follow.  -Gandhi

We've been watching a lot of documentaries lately. The most recent include The Future of Food, The Beautiful Truth, and Fuel. This quote was from one of those and I can't remember which but it has been stuck in my head ever since. It just pops up in my brain at random times throughout the day. I can't quit thinking about it. I can't keep from wondering if the majority of the population will ever realize what is really happening within our corporate controlled government. When are people going to realize that corporate food giants are turning our food into poison and that everything non-organic you buy in the regular grocery store is basically killing you? I promise I'm not crazy, just educated! If you care about your health, and more importantly the health of your kids, I URGE YOU TO WATCH THESE FILMS! Watch any film you can find about food. Get educated. Stand up for what is right and healthy. You owe it to the earth, your kids, and every future generation that is to come.

Now for my rant of the day:
Genetically modified mono-crops will lead to worldwide starvation. I do not want to eat something grown from a seed that is genetically engineered with a suicide gene that will kill itself after one harvest. I do not want to eat something grown from a seed that has been genetically engineered to survive being saturated with RoundUp weed killer. What happens to poor countries and underdeveloped nations when genetically engineered crops have contaminated and taken over their own? The answer is the people starve to death because the seeds do not re-pollinate and come back year after year and they can't afford to buy more seed from Monsanto. There is also no scientific evidence that eating GMO ingredients is safe, and you can bet that when you eat something that has been genetically engineered then it has also been HEAVILY sprayed with toxic pesticides which kill your cells and kill the soil it is grown in.

This chart is from http://www.ers.usda.gov/Data/BiotechCrops/.

Adoption of GE crops has grown steadilty in the United States since their introduction in 1996.

Do what is right, choose local or organic and help us lead the way back to healthy food and a healthy earth!
