quote of the day

Nothing will work unless you do.   -Maya Angelou

Me and the boys working at the dairy this morning. Lennon hanging out in the Ergo carrier (which is not so easy with me being 23 weeks pregnant now) and Jude being silly of course :) We loaded out 142 cows today. It took three semi trucks and trailers but they are now on their way to their new home in Trenton, Missouri to another pasture grazing dairy. We are left with 30 milk cows and about 150 calves ranging from newborn to 2 years old. After two weeks of stress regarding the sale this is quite a relief! I feel like one weight has been lifted off my shoulders, now if we could just get our new house finished before the baby arrives!

  1. Will the 2 year olds be old enough to milk? If not, how will you sell enough milk with only 30 milk cows left?
You look great, by the way.

  2. No, the 2 year olds are not old enough to milk. We need to put a bull with them then in 9-10 months after they calve they will be ready to milk. Hopefully we will sell those before we have to milk them! We will still have plenty of milk to sell with only 30 cows.
