My favorite no bake cookie recipe

It seems like everyone has their own no bake cookie recipe. This is my recipe and it is by far my favorite. I don't like a dry, crumbly no bake cookie. These are moist and chewy every time and so easy to make!

2 cups sugar
3 Tbs. cocoa powder
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup milk
1 pinch salt
3 cups quick cooking oats
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 tsp. vanilla

  • In a saucepan, bring first 5 ingredients to a rapid boil for 1 minute.
  • Add last 3 ingredients and mix well.
  • Drop onto waxed paper (I use unbleached parchment paper) and let cool.

  1. That's the recipe my mom uses! She always got compliments when she made them for school activities. I haven't had any in a while, I may just have to beg her to make me some!

  4. This is the recipe I have used for 25 years except for the peanut butter. I have never made them with PB. I'll have to try this tomorrow. My kids have been begging for another batch.

  6. I remember making these as a kid with my BFF's. One of the few things our parents would let us make unsupervised. Thanks for the memories! Nom, nom, nom...
