The Crazy cooking Challenge this month over at Mom's Crazy Cooking is chocolate chip cookies. I was a little bummed at first because my own recipe makes some pretty awesome chocolate chip cookies and I thought it was going to be hard finding another recipe on someone's blog that could stand up against mine. I was SO happy when I found this recipe at Recipe Girl! It is a totally different spin on chocolate chip cookies and come on, how can you resist a cookie with a yummy surprise in the middle??

Reeses-Stuffed Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
1/2 cup butter at room temperature
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1 large egg
1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup milk chocolate chips, plus extra for topping
12-16 full-sized Reeses Peanut Butter Cups

Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, cream together first 4 ingredients. Add egg and and continues to mix until light and fluffy.
3. Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add to wet mixture and stir together just until ingredients are incorporated. Stir in 1 cup of chocolate chips.
4. Plan for baking 6-8 cookies per large cookie sheet. Scoop out a heaping tablespoon of dough and place it on your cookie sheet.
Use a sugared fork to make a criss-cross on the top of the dough to smash it down a bit. Top with a Reeses Cup.
Top with another heaping tablespoon of dough.
Use a sugared fork to criss-cross the top making sure the dough covers most of the PB cup. Put a few extra chocolate chips on top to make it look pretty once baked.
5. Bake for 12-14 minutes or until cookies are lightly browned and almost set. Cool on cookie sheet for a couple of minutes then transfer to a wire rack to cool the rest of the way.
This recipe made 16 cookies for me. Recipe Girl says that these cookies freeze well.

I should warn you, do not make these cookies unless you have a big glass of milk to wash them down because they are rich! Please don't forget to vote for your favorite chocolate chip cookies recipe below :)

If you like this recipe please vote for me below, I'm number 4 :)

  34. I just baked these. They are beyond wonderful. I couldn't stop laughing, they're so good.

I cut the peanut butter cups into quarters. The cookies were still pretty big, but not too overwhelming. Super-delicious. Thanks for the recipe, Crunchy Mamacita!
