Oh my gosh, this soup was SOOOOO delicious! This was the first time I've ever eaten french onion soup but Jimmy has had it many times before and he said this was by far the best he's ever had. I made it a couple of weeks ago and I am making it again today to use up the rest of the beautiful locally homegrown onions that were given to me. My mouth is watering just thinking about it and I can't wait until dinner time!

I actually stuck to the exact recipe for this one and did not make any changes. I will tell you that the $8 per pound Gruyere cheese is totally worth the price!
