YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY for health care reform!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally we are on our way to see some change in our screwed up health care, or to better describe it, our disease management system. I haven’t read the bill, as I’m sure most of you haven’t either, but from what I know about it I think it’s far from perfect. The point is- IT’S A START!
A lot of republicans want to talk about all the bad stuff in the bill and how much it’s going to cost us. To them I say, “Well what’s your solution to our health care crisis?” I mean it, what is it? If you want to talk bad about the new health care LAW and Obama for that matter, then please tell me your solution! I’m sorry but I don’t think you have the right to talk shit unless you have a clearly thought out solution to the problem.
I am so fed up with hearing bullshit comments like, “well if the new government health care plan is so great why doesn’t congress want to participate?” and “oh it’s going to cost trillions of dollars!” First of all the government plan isn’t for people who already have good insurance it’s for the people who can’t afford insurance or who have been denied coverage due to preexisting conditions. Second, how many trillions of dollars are we already spending on health insurance? I would gladly pay $200 in taxes every month for a government plan instead of $400 a month for a private insurance plan (which is actually what I’m paying right now for just me and the boys, RIDICULOUS).
I just had to turn it to Fox News for a good laugh after Obama signed the bill earlier I wasn’t disappointed! All they had to talk about was how Biden leaned over and told Obama, “This is a big fucking deal” and the microphone picked it up and everyone heard it. WELL IT IS A BIG FUCKING DEAL!!! And Fox News you are a big fucking joke!
Next up, lobbying should be made illegal (the insurance companies just spent over $400 million of our money lobbying against health care reform, more than any other single industry has spent lobbying against something) as well as prescription drug advertising. Call me a socialist but pure capitalism with little government regulation doesn’t work. People are way too greedy and that’s been proven in the last few years. So that’s my rant, what’s yours?
I was sooooo excited when this passed! It is a huge deal for people like me who have been denied insurance for having anxiety and mitral valve prolapse and don't have the money for great insurance in the first place. I am ready to see where it takes us and reap the benefits (that I am sure those conservatives will be lapping up as well!)
ReplyDeletei'm excited for some change too. the whole reason i have this stupid job is to get healthcare and i can't even put my husband on it unless i want to pay $350 a month! whoever wants to gripe can talk to me about his ER visit last summer that we're still paying off b/c he doesn't have coverage.
ReplyDeleteand lobbying - seriously!?!! terrible and crooked and we shouldn't let our HEALTH options be swayed by money! =)
