This week in life learning...

Our schedule this week has been a little hectic. The boys have been staying at grandma's some during the day so I can help Jimmy on the new house. We've been on the road a lot picking things up for the house, taking books back to the library, getting to appointments, etc. So we haven't had a lot of sit down "reading book" time. Fortunately we are unschoolers so we can learn any way anytime! Yesterday Jude was counting the wheels on a semi truck and trailer that was stopped beside us at a stoplight. He counted seven on one side. So we talked about how many that meant the truck had total. We talked about how 7+7 is the same as 7x2 and that both mean you have two groups of 7. He asked if 7x7 was the same and I explained to him that would mean you have seven groups of 7. I love it when he asks me questions like that. Not only does it mean he's thinking critically but that is how he learns best, asking questions and having them answered.

At night when Lennon goes to bed and things settle down for us sometimes I still have a kitchen to clean or a shower to take so Jude watches documentaries on Netflix. This week he's been into National Geographic's Deadly Dozen and Showdown: Air Combat.

We still have our airplane books from the library so we've been looking at the jets from the movie in the books. We also have a cool Animal Encyclopedia that we've been reading to find out more about some of the deadly animal on the movie.

As for Lennon, he's been learning that going poo poo in the potty feels much better than going in your pants and having squished all over your butt. He also knows that peeing off the back porch is way more fun than peeing in the potty :)
