Easy to make, delicious, chewy, chocolatey, addictive, mouth-watering, yep that pretty much sums up this fudge! And really, what isn't good with Nutella in it?! I found the recipe at Cookin' Canuck and she has lots of other great looking recipes that I pinned as well!
In my husband's words, "This is the best fudge I have ever eaten!" The texture is perfect, not hard and powdery like some fudges that I have eaten. The sea salt gives it a nice crunch and an unexpected taste sensation. I've seen other sweet recipes with sea salt but this was my first one to make. I love it! And when I say it was easy to make I really mean it! Six ingredients and a prep and cook time of about 10 minutes. This would make a great Christmas gift treat!
Chocolate Nutella Fudge with Sea Salt
1 (14oz) can sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
8 oz high quality semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup Nutella, room temperature
3 Tbs butter, room temperature cut up into small pieces
Course sea salt to sprinkle on top
Line 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper leaving a couple of inches sticking up on each side (so you can lift the chilled fudge out of the pan).
In the top of a double boiler (you can use a glass bowl on top of a pan with water in the bottom), mix all the ingredients except the sea salt. Your water in the bottom pan should be just below the top pan or glass bowl. Gently simmer the water and stir the mixture until the chocolate chips are melted and the mixture is smooth, about 5-7 minutes.
Scrape the mixture into the lined pan and smooth the top with a spatula. Sprinkle with sea salt and gently press the sea salt down into the fudge so that it won't fall off once the fudge is chilled. Refrigerate until the fudge is firm, at least two hours.
Using the overhanging parchment paper, lift the fudge out of the pan. Cut the fudge into 3/4 inch pieces. Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container.

ReplyDeleteNicely done! I have been using sea salt on some baked goods lately, and it is divine. It sort of gives that sweet/salty taste, doesn't it? Yet it's mild. And I agree, high quality baking chips can make or break your recipe!

We are in love with Nutella in my family. So much that we started making homemade Nutella! I am going to make this with the kids tomorrow. This recipe reminds me of the Peppermint Bark that we made for the holidays this past week. Check it out:
